I highly recommend ‘Apathy for the Devil’ by Nick Kent. It’s like Almost Famous but way cooler and all true stories. The author, who was responsible for putting nme on the map as a serious music magazine, didn’t just interview the biggest names in music, he hung out with them. Sound like someone you know?! He had many an adventure with the likes of Iggy Pop, the Sex Pistols, Led Zeplin... it’s written superbly and takes you to a place of debauched rock and roll, defining an era, and drawing you in to a world you’d have given up your grandma to be part of...
